DESCRIPTION

Bellwright is an open world medieval survival game where you lead a rebellion against your homeland's oppressive Sovereign. Along the way, you assist villagers, recruit others to your cause, and establish your own settlement by liberating them from the Crown.

In April of 2024, the Donkey Crew released an early access version of Bellwright. I was tasked to help the Donkey Crew team to capture in-game screenshots, edit developer update videos, and craft a Co-Op trailer. While also producing ads for paid media campaigns with a small team of one video editor and one graphic designer (me). Since the game was delivered in an Alpha state, it was difficult to show major progression organically, so we had to learn in-game cheat commands to progress through the game.

In April of 2025 the developers had an Anniversary Update bringing massive quality of life changes and introducing many new points of interest for players to test out. For this trailer we leaned heavily on the developers capture and provide their trailer, utilizing engine captured bullshots and move away from in-game capture. I was tasked to work with the developers art team to create a new key visual to promote the update, providing moodboards and reference for what would be used for the remainder of the year.

To end 2025 the developers also released the Maiden Voyage Update which brought a whole new map and introduced factions that expanded on the world of Karvenia. For this release we leaned on the developers to execute the trailer, and the Snail Games USA in-house marketing team focused on paid media promotions and publishing the release. Capturing new screenshots and short form videos that highlighted their latest updates from an organic players point of view.
